| Allow me to introduce myself. I am a third generation musician trying to live up to the family name.
My grandfather, Jimmy "Babyface" Lewis,[left] a blues singer and guitarist, greatests hits cd was just released which was awesome for me because he passed before I was born. Then there is my dad, Master Percussionist, drummer and composer, Mingo Lewis. Joining Santana at age 15 and going on to play or record with everybody from Chick Corea, The Tubes, Aretha Franklin, Miles Davis, WWW.ALDIMEOLA.COM, Billy Joel to name a few of the thousands. [http://www.myspace.com/mingosroomofvoices ] I will never be as good as him but I have fun doin what I'm doin-Here is a list of the bands I have performed or recorded with over the last couple years..some on percussion, some on drumset: Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church (Oakland, CA); Groundation; Sage; Wisdom;Warrior King; RawSun; Figi; Bo Jackson; Zealous; Alma Melediosa; Wiley's Coyotes; Good Works Massive; Vortex Tribe; Pep Love; Greg Howe; Vinyl.Music is my passion and I am very lucky to get the opportunity to play with all these bands. I am a work in progress, always tryin to get better. Like I said, I will never be as good a my dad, he is a one in a million child prodigy. But I have fun doin what I do, music is a joyous expression that makes you move.
