Faces are a blur, sounds morph into noise, and the loud cries of "listen to my music", "check out my beats", and "I'm the next big thing" bellow each day. The paths of these undistinguishable drones have become worn with the same repetitive formulas being applied to reach their dreams. There is one, however, who is creating his own path, his own sound, and his own name and he asks that you take the journey with him. Welcome to the world of Eric Crawley.... Born and raised in Reading, Pennsylvania but transplanting to Dallas at 12, Eric was born into music. Gospel surrounded Eric growing up but it was Michael and Janet Jackson who inspired the young musician to get on the path to be a professional entertainer. He started singing & dancing at the age of 3, and began writing at the age of 9, perfecting his craft and training his ear to what makes a song a hit. With endless hours of vocal practice and a love for music beyond measure, Eric Crawley's star was ready to shine. The craft of writing, singing, and arranging songs has always been a huge part of Eric's life and has been the continual push to reach all of his goals. His biggest influences include the edge and creativity of R. Kelly, the personality, charisma, and dedication of Beyonce, and the harmonies and soul bearing love of Brandy. When asked what makes Eric Crawley different than the rest, the 20 year old simply replies: "People should listen to me because I don't just want to put music out there that majority would listen to temporarily, but that something that will last the test of time. I want my music to appeal to all the senses... mind, body, and soul. If not like any other starving artist out there and despite not making it thru a few rounds...Eric had auditioned for numerous singing opportunities such as American Idol (3 times), America's Got Talent, and Making the Band (season 4) among other auditions..."I see everyone of them as an experience that I can take with me wherever I go...there are so many doors with no's, it's that one door you want to say yes, that will change your world upside down, and I know it's bound to open for me soon..." There are others to listen to and others to choose from but there's only one to look for to be that true visionary waiting to be unleashed! |
