| Diplomato in arpa. Come direttore di coro si è formato sotto la guida dei maestri Gerhard Schmidt-Gaden,Peter Neumann,Gary Graden,Stojan Kuret. E’ stato maestro del Coro di voci bianche di Musica per Roma,del Piccolo Coro del Comune di Roma e del Laboratorio Voci Bianche dell’Acc.Naz.di Santa Cecilia con il quale ha preso parte alle produzioni concertistiche delle stagioni dell’ente. Dal 1992 dirige il Coro Città di Roma con il quale ha vinto numerosi concorsi nazionali e internazionali (Arezzo,Gorizia,Maribor,ecc) Ha inciso 20 CD e collabora stabilmente con Ennio Morricone a concerti e registrazioni discografiche (Focus con Dulce Pontes,il DVD Arena Concerto,film e sceneggiati televisivi).È membro della Commissione Artistica dell’ARCL (Ass.Reg. Cori del Lazio). Più volte membro di giurie di concorsi di canto corale e di composizione,è fondatore e ideatore del Concorso di canto Corale Città di Zagarolo. Insegna Direzione di Coro per Didattica della Musica al Conservatorio di Rodi Garganico.__________________________________________________

Mauro Marchetti was born in Rome.
He studied harp with Maria Selmi Dongellini and choir conducting with the following teachers: Paolo Lucci (Coro di voci bianche dell’ARCUM), Gerhard Schmidt-Gaden (Tolzer Knabenchor), Gary Graden (St.Jacob Kammarkor), Peter Neumann (Kolner Kammerchor) and Stojan Kuret (APZ Tone Tomsic).
Having graduated in harp, he has held concerts as soloist and in chamber-music formations, collaborating with the Accademia Nazionale di S. Cecilia, the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, and the Symphonic Institution Abruzzese.
As a child, he sang as soloist in contemporary lyric-opera (Sylvano Bussotti) at Scala di Milano, Teatro Comunale di Treviso and Accademia Nazionale di S.Cecilia under the direction of Bernstein, Sawallisch, Sinopoli, Pretre.
His career as a choir conductor started with the XXIV Liceo Sperimentale Choir in Rome and then he founded and directed Cantilena Children’s Choir, Children’s Choir Benjamin Britten, Operton Choir, Città di Roma Choir(Tournee in France,Sweden,Belgium,Slovenia and prize in national and international choral competition like Gorizia, Arezzo, Maribor), Choraula Children’s Choir, Musica per Roma Children’s Choir and Accademia Nazionale di S.Cecilia Children’s Choir.
He has had many collaborations with Ennio Morricone including concerts, recordings for movies and CDs.
In 2007, he and Michael Josia founded the vocal group Italo-Slovenian Vocalkor.
He has been a Jury member on many occasion for choral contests and contests of choral compositions.
He is artistic manager of the Contest of Choral Song "City of Zagarolo."
He has received recognition in regional, national and international choral contests (Gorizia, Arezzo, Maribor, Rome, Rieti).
He is a teacher in Choir Conducting for Didactics of Music at the Conservatory of Rodi Garganico.
