About Me |
|
| 'The music buisness is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where theives and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs...There's also a negative side to it...' -Hunter S. ThompsonLyn Todd started her career at Max's Kansas City, & CBGB's, then on to a lifetime of R&R bands, & record deals...She is a product of the NYC Punk Scene in the 1970's... She is the real deal...She played with Jerry Nolan, Johnny Thunders, & Billy Wrath from The NY Doll's, & The Heartbreakers, Barry Ryan, from The Victims, & the Rockats, Glen Buxton from Alice Cooper, & many, many more known musicians...The list is too long to write out right now, but she's been involved with not only the NYC Punk Scene, but the L.A. Scene of the 80's as well...We'll get to them all later.'Heart Disease' was the straw that broke the camel's back w/ Vanguard Records. It's a sarcastic commentary on how America treats it's elderly...So, much for that little thing they call freedom of speach, & speaking up about what you believe to be wrong w/ this country. The owners of Vanguard; Maynard & Seymour Soloman, & moron Bobby Orlando said, "We can't release a song w/ subject matter like that! What will our mothers think?"In a time when it was not excepted for women to sing so aggressivly, & only sang songs about love, & heartache, Lyn Todd was amoung the very first women to have a balls to the wall voice, & band which spoke of political issues, & whatever else she wanted to sing/write about.Zig Zag magazine said, 'Lyn Todd is like a cross between Tina Turner & Tina Louise.' NOMAG said, 'Lyn Todd stold Brenda Lee's vocal chords, but not her personality. Watching Lyn perform is like an amphedemine rush." & Eric Burdon said, 'Fuck, this chick can sing...She reminds me of me!' & 'Slow down your gonna kill me!!! I'll never finish my book!!!' as she backed the baby blue '62 Caddy down Laurel Canyon Blvd. & across Sunset Blvd. @ 60 miles an hour. | |
