Known for his love of music, it was no surprise to any of his friends when Adam Trace decided to lace up his boots professionally as a DJ/Producer. Adam literally was thrust into Djing when a DJ friend of his (who will remain nameless!) passed out at a function with 3 hours to go. Although not particularly familiar with turntables, Adam managed to see out the night with a small degree of success (ie not breaking anything!) and found himself hooked. Starting off playing a mish mash of hip hop, soul, disco and funk, Adam slowly found himself drawn more and more to Dance Music and more specifically, House Music. In particular, the large vocal and bassline driven sounds of Subliminal and of course Defected called to Adam, although he quickly established to anyone who listened that he would play anything he deemed good enough. Fast forward a few years and Adam Trace has a lengthy list of clubs and bars to his resume (Embassy, Motel, Heat, Lotus, Candybar, Bond, Boutique and many others) as well as supporting various international acts and djs at their shows and afterparties (Including the Black Eyed Peas, Naughty By Nature, Chris Brown, Ricky Martin, Craig David, Stonebridge, Martjin Ten Velden, Utah Saints/Beatvandals and more). In addition to this, Adam managed to thrust himself onto the production scene, teaming up with a musician/producer known as The Soul Junkie and collaborating under the name Complicated Funk ( http://www.myspace.com/complicatedfunk; ). Having completed remixes for J Nitti, Ricki Lee and soon to release an EP, Complicated Funk are becoming a force to be reckoned with. Adam's sound is somewhere smack bang in the middle of House, Tribal, Breaks & Funk. The mix certainly makes for an interesting one! Overtly Energetic, Adam is often so involved that the lines between Work & Party become blurred! An exercise in entertainment & education, Adam Traces set are not to be missed.
