About Me

I’m a demo product specialist for Amplitube plugins for IK Multimedia

I’m a Miami based guitarist in multiple genres! I’m also the son of legendary Jazz multi-instrumentalist Ira Sullivan.
I had a rich childhood growing up hearing my father play with Jazz greats such as Jaco Pastorius, Joe Diorio and others. I picked up guitar, probably because it was the only instrument my father Ira didn’t play! Fans of Ira know he’d probably learn guitar, too, if he wanted!
Currently, I write perform and produce for the group Featured on Fridays. A Shred, Progressive/Rock Fusion group. I’m also currently writing and collaborating with my father Ira on an exciting Jazz project. The project consists of music very reminiscent of the Ira Sullivan Joe Diorio, Jaco Pastorious era form the 70’s when they performed at the Unitarian church in Miami, Fl. Anyone who was lucky enough to see Ira play at the church witnessed a birth of music far removed form the Bebop heard years earlier from some of the same performers. Rather, the audience was treated to a free-from of jazz from musicians who transcended their own limits while creating it. It will be one of the most challenging projects Iv’e ever attempted in music.
I’ve been onstage with some amazing talent and each musician has been teacher to me. Here are just some of the wonderful artists that I’ve had the privilege of performing with: Joe Diorio, Simon Salz, Nestor Torres, Guy Viveros, John Yariling, Duffy Jackson, Mike Gerber, Brian Murphy, Don Miller and countless other artists that teach and perform at University of Miami and around the nation.
These names may not be known in the pop world but to those who have heard them, they are some of the most incredible musicians on this planet.
My father didn’t force me to follow in his footsteps as a bebop jazz playing son, but rather, let me grow up and find my individual voice. My guitar teachers, Joe Diorio, Dave Weisbrot, and Simon Salz were the guys who encouraged and nurtured that drummer I was marching to.
Like many guitarist I share a love of Jazz, Blues, and rock and grew up tone-chasing all the greats; Wes, Halen, Vaughn, DeLucia, Eric Johson, Hendrix. but finding my identity has been the most fun and rewarding experience. I hope to share with friends and continue to be inspired by other musicians.
